Removing the Battery
► Stand the shrub shears on a level surface.
► Hold one hand in front of the battery compartment to
ensure the battery (2) does not fall out.
► Press both locking levers (1).
The battery (2) is unlocked and can be removed.
9 Switching the Shrub Shears On/Off

Switching On the Shrub Shears
► Push the release slide (1) in the direction of the cutting
blades with your thumb and hold it there.
► Pull the trigger (2) with your index finger and hold it there.
You can let go of the release slide (1). The motor
accelerates and the cutting blades run.

► Let go of the trigger and release slide.
► Wait until the cutting blades come to a complete standstill
after about 1 second.
► If the cutting blades continue to run after about 1 second:
Remove the battery and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer.
There is a malfunction in the shrub shears.
10 Testing the Shrub Shears
10.1 Checking the Controls
Release slide and trigger
► Remove the battery.
► Attempt to pull the trigger lever without depressing the
release slide.
► If the trigger can be pulled: Do not use your shrub shears
and contact your STIHL servicing dealer.
The release slide has a malfunction.
► Push the release slide in the direction of the cutting blades
with your thumb and hold it there.
► Pull the trigger.
► Let go of the trigger and release slide.
► If the trigger or the release slide is stiff or does not spring
back to the idle position: Do not use your shrub shears and
contact your STIHL servicing dealer.
The trigger or release slide has a malfunction.
Switch on the shrub shears
► Fit the battery.
► Push the release slide in the direction of the cutting blades
with your thumb and hold it there.
► Pull the trigger and hold it there.
The cutting blades run.
► Release the trigger.
The cutting blades stop running after about 1 second.
