14.4 Attaching the Hip Pad to the AR Backpack
Battery Harness or Battery Backpack
A hip pad is used to convert a battery backpack into a
harness for supporting the power tool. When working with an
AR backpack battery or AP battery in a battery backpack,
the hip pad must be used, for example, when operating an
FS-KM KombiTool mounted with a metal cutting attachment.
The hip pad must be mounted on the operator's right side.
To attach the hip pad:

► Attach the quick-release fastener (5) that comes with the
hip pad to the harness strap (4).
► Attach the other quick-release fastener (6) that comes
with the hip pad to the side buckle (7).

► Connect the hip pad (8) to the harness using the quick-
release fasteners (5 and 6).

► Adjust the length of the hip pad strap (1) so that the
carabiner (2) is about a hand's width below the top of your
hip.
► Attach the carabiner to the carrying ring (3) on the power
tool's shaft.
