Figure 4-7
Outer Wear Bars
Refer to Figure 4-7:
1.
Disengage PTO and park on level ground.
2. Place gear selector in park or in neutral with park
brake set.
3. Operate 3-point lift lever to raise Snow Blower off the
ground high enough to adjust outer wear bars (#2).
4. Shut tractor engine off and remove switch key. Make
sure PTO has stopped before dismounting tractor.
5. To keep Snow Blower from dropping while adjusting
outer wear bars (#2), place support blocks under
Snow Blower support rests (#1) or lower wear 
bar (#1) shown in Figure 6-9 on page 34.
6. Remove carriage bolts (#3).
7.
Raise or lower the Snow Blower as follows:
To raise the Snow Blower, move outer wear bars
(#2) down to the preferred height and reinsert
carriage bolts (#3).
To lower the Snow Blower, move outer wear bars
(#2) up to the preferred height and reinsert carriage
bolts (#3).
8. Secure outer wear bars (#2) with existing hex flange
lock nuts (#4). Tighten lock nuts to the correct torque.
NOTE: When outer wear bars (#2) are worn
excessively, they can be turned upside down and
reused to extend their wear life.

Drive Chain Take-up
Refer to Figure 4-8:
IMPORTANT: Do not over tension drive chain. A
tight drive chain will overload drive shaft, auger
shaft, and bearings, and accelerate chain and
sprocket wear. Damage to components due to an
over tensioned drive chain will void its warranty.
1.
Disengage PTO and park on level ground.
2. Place gear selector in park or in neutral with park
brake set, shut engine off, remove switch key, and
wait for PTO to stop before dismounting tractor.
3. Loosen bolts (#3) and remove idler guard (#1). Keep
guard and guard hardware for reattachment.
Refer to Figure 4-9:
4. Loosen 5/8" bolt (#2) and push down on idler
sprocket (#7) until movement in the middle of bottom
chain (#8) has 3/8" to 1/2" slack.
5. Hold sprocket (#7) in this position and tighten 
5/8"-11 bolt (#2) to the correct torque.
Refer to Figure 4-8:
6. Reattach idler guard (#1) to slots "A" . Make sure lower
flat washers (#6), lock washers (#5) and hex nuts
(#4) are below slots "A" . Tighten 5/16"-18 x 1" GR5 hex
bolts (#3) to the correct torque.
