* System controller redundancy
It is possible to have a primary (duty) and a secondary (standby) system controller in a single
system, configured as a redundant pair. This to avoid that an PRAESENSA system becomes
non‑functional when an system controller fails. By default (on startup), the primary system
controller will become the duty system controller, while the secondary will be the standby
system controller. In operation, the primary system controller will copy all required
configuration settings, messages, event logs and device status information to the secondary
system controller.
Both system controllers can be connected via dual redundant connections to the network.
Caution!
Be aware that when start configuring redundancy, the secondary (standby) system controller
!
is "reset to factory default" first (see System controller, page 43 > Rear panel indicators and
controls). This to avoid that a secondary system controller refuses to be configured.

than 1, is not recommended.
