Finally stir in the nuts and rum. Bake the
dough immediately. Sprinkle the baked
waffl es with icing sugar. Serve warm or cold.
∙ When preparing the waffl e batter ensure
all the other ingredients have the same
temperature. The dough may "sweat" a
little, but the waffl es are very tender and
crispy if carefully prepared.
Sand waffl es
Ingredients:
200 g (7 oz) margarine or butter, 100 g (3
½ oz) sugar, grated rind of 1 lemon, 4 eggs,
200 g (7 oz) fl our, ½ tsp. baking powder, 1
tbsp. rum.
For dusting: icing sugar
Preparation:
Cream fat, sugar and lemon rind. Add the
eggs one after another and mix well. Gently
fold in the fl our sifted with baking powder
in small portions, and fi nally stir in the rum.
Bake the dough immediately. Sprinkle the
baked waffl es with icing sugar. Serve warm
or cold.
