18 Troubleshooting

18.1 Troubleshooting shrub shears and battery

Fault

Shrub shears do not
1 LED flashing
start when switched

4 LEDs

Cause
State of charge of the
battery is too low.
The battery is too warm or
too cold.
There is a malfunction in
the shrub shears.
Shrub shears are too hot.
There is a fault in the
battery.
No electrical contact
between the shrub shears
and battery.
Shrub shears or battery are
damp.
The cutting blades do not
run freely.
Remedy
► Charge the battery.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Switch on the shrub shears.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
shrub shears and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the shrub shears to cool down.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on the shrub shears.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Allow the shrub shears or battery to dry.
► Spray both sides of cutting blades with STIHL resin
solvent.
► If shrub shears still do not start when switched on:
Do not use your shrub shears and contact your
STIHL dealer.
