4. Put a screwdriver between the seal and the shaft,
and remove the seal out of the shaft housing.
5. Wind insulating tape around the input shaft to
prevent damage to the new seal from splines and
grooves. Wind from the bottom and continue to the
end of the shaft.
6. Put grease on the shaft and on the inner side of the
new seal to make the seal move easily.
7. Put the seal on the shaft with the smooth side up
and press down carefully.
8. Use the thick end of ¼ in extension to carefully tap
down the seal. Move the extension around the seal
until the seal is level with the top edge of the shaft
housing.
9. Remove the insulation tape from the shaft and
attach the lower circlip and belt pulley with the
hexagonal hub up.
10. Attach the fan with the washer and the top circlip.
42 - Repair instructions
9.5.10.2 To replace the output shaft seals of the
hydrostatic transmission
CAUTION: The area around the seal must be
clean. Dirt in the transmission oil can decrease
the lifetime of the hydrostatic transmission.
1. Remove the wheel on the axle with the damaged

2. Clean all the dirt and corrosion from the input shaft
and the area around the seal.
3. Put a screwdriver between the seal and the shaft,
and remove the seal out of the shaft housing. A
small quantity of oil can leak out.
4. Wind insulating tape around the input shaft to
prevent damage to the new seal from the keyway
and the groove. Wind from the inner end of the
keyway and continue to the end of the shaft.
5. Put grease on the shaft and on the inner side of the
new seal to make the seal move easily.
6. Put the seal on the shaft with the metal spring in the
direction of the transmission and push it in carefully.
