Primary Combustion air enters the unit in the upper front and a damper
controlled by a thermostatic fan & limit control position in the plenum. the air
damper driven from fully open to fully close between set point temperature.
minimum air inlet is define by five 0.470" diameter hole and two 0.350"
diameter hole in the primary Damper. refer drawing for all details. In the lower
front of the unit the secondary air inlet is 1inch X 1.5 inch without control. This
air is directed to the Firebox. Combustion products flow through a heat
exchanger system of four 0.875" diameter tube. Combustion products exit
through a 6-in flue collar located at the upper back of the outer enclosure.

OPERATION DURING TEST
The primary air inlet was manually adjusted to maintain the targeted heat rate.
The inlet and outlet air duct temperature were monitored to determine the
Delta-T. The flow of the air in the duct is monitored by a calibrated pitot tube.

TEST FUEL PROPERTIES
The fuel used was cordwood. The fuel was split cordwood 20-inches long. The
fuel was air dried for two years to average moisture content between 18% and
28% on a dry basis. Cordwood fuel is to be loaded into the firebox in a random
fashion.

START-UP OPERATION
Each test was started with a clean firebox and the scale zeroed. A fire was
started. During the pretest loads, the combustion-air flow was adjusted to
establish target heat draw. After verification the heat draw could be
