4.8. 48 KHZ Interface Test
4.8.1. Press KEYPAD NUMBER 7.
4.8.2. Verify that the LCD displays the message
4.8.3. If this message is not displayed, repeat step 4.8.1 until the appropriate message is
displayed.
4.8.4. Press AUTOPLAY.
4.8.5. Verify that the LCD displays the message "Test Passed" momentarily.
4.8.6. If the LCD displays the message "Test Failed", then the BRC has failed its 48 KHZ
interface test.
4.8.7. Record the results of this test on the data sheet.
4.9. Video Interface Test
4.9.1. Press KEYPAD NUMBER 8.
4.9.2. Verify that the LCD displays the message
4.9.3. If this message is not displayed, repeat step 4.9.1 until the appropriate message is
displayed.
4.9.4. Press AUTOPLAY.
4.9.5. Insert a video tape into the VCR and press PLAY on the VCR. Note, this video
tape must have valid program material recorded onto it.
4.9.6. Verify that the LCD displays the message
where XXXX = NTSC or PAL/SECAM depending on the video source input to the BRC.
4.9.7. If the LCD fails to display the appropriate video input, then the BRC has failed its
video interface test.
4.9.8. Press PITCH

4.9.9. Eject the tape from the VCR.
4.9.10. Record the results of this test on the data sheet.
4.10. SMPTE Interface Test
4.10.1. Press KEYPAD NUMBER 9.
4.10.2. Verify that the LCD displays the message
4.10.3. If this message is not displayed, repeat step 4.10.1 until the appropriate message
is displayed.
4.10.4. Press AUTOPLAY.
4.10.5. Verify that the LCD displays the message
4.10.6. Verify that the BRC LED counter is displaying running time code.
