TABLE 4.1 - BRC SELF TESTS

Tests BRC ROM integrity. If this test passes, the LCD will display
PASSED and it will exit this test automatically. However, if the unit fails
this test, the LCD will display FAILED and won't exit the test until the
operator presses both PITCH
Tests BRC RAM integrity. If this test passes, the LCD will display
PASSED and it will exit this test automatically. However, if the unit fails
this test, the LCD will display FAILED and won't exit the test until the
operator presses both PITCH
Tests BRC LEDs. During this test, the BRC will light up all the LEDs in
groups. After each group of LEDs has been lit, the BRC will exit this test
automatically.
Tests BRC LEDs. During this test, the BRC will light up each LED
individually. After each individual LED has been lit, the BRC will exit this
test automatically.
Tests BRC Switches and Buttons. During this test, each button pressed will
cause the LCD to display the appropriate switch name. All of the switches
should be pressed prior to exiting this test. If not, the LCD will display the
message NOT ALL TESTED and the operator will then need to press the
missed button (it might be easier to just try and press them all again). To
exit this test at any time, press both PITCH
simultaneously. Note that this test can be exited even if all of the buttons
have not been pressed. Simply press PITCH

Tests BRC interface to LRC. This test requires the operator to plug an LRC
into either one of the footswitch jacks on the back of the BRC. If the LRC
is not plugged in, the LCD will display UNPLUGGED. If the LRC is
plugged into the LOCATE/PLAY jack on the back of the BRC, the LCD
will display Footswitch 1: 01. Likewise, if the LRC is plugged into the
PUNCH IN/OUT jack on the back of the BRC, the LCD will display
Footswitch 2: 01. To exit this test at any time, press PITCH

Tests BRC MIDI functionality. To conduct this test, the operator must
connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI input jack to the MIDI output jack on
the back of the BRC. During this test, the BRC will send a MIDI signal
from the MIDI output jack while checking for a MIDI signal on the MIDI
input jack. If the unit passes this test, the LCD will display PASSED and
the BRC will exit this test automatically. However, if the unit fails this
test, the LCD will display FAILED and the operator will have to press
PITCH
