Inspecting the injection rate, tightness
and jet formation of the injectors
Special tools, test and measuring equipment and
auxiliary items required
Hand multimeter (e.g. -V.A.G 1348/2B-)

Digital potentiometer (e.g. -V.A.G 1630-)

Test condition
Fuel pump relay o.k., testing µ Chap. 01-1.

Testing jet formation and tightness
–
Remove the upper part of the intake manifold
µ Chapter 24-1.
–
Remove the fuel rail together with the installed injec-
tors µ Chapter 24-1. The fuel hoses remain connect-
ed.
–
Unplug the 4-pin connector -1- from the coolant tem-
perature sender -G62- -2-.
–
Set digital potentiometer -V.A.G 1630- side A to 15 kΩ
and connect to the unplugged connector contact 3
and 4 using auxiliary cables.
–
Unplug the 4-pin connector -1- from the power output
stage -N122- -2-.
