3.2 Where to Inspect

1) Inspecting the upper cover
Check to see if the peel-off slit located on the bottom side of the upper cover is not
flawed or deformed. If the upper cover is flawed or deformed, replace it with a new one.
(See the description on replacement of the upper cover on page 27 for how to replace
the upper cover.)
2) Inspecting the shutter
Check to see if the edge of the shutter is not flawed or deformed.
Check the following conditions.
- Vertical direction: Check to see if the clearance between the top surface of a tape
0.1 mm or less
- Horizontal direction:Check to see if the center of the shutter is located at the medial
- Operation:
If you find any failure when you inspect the tape feeder, clean the shutter moving
parts with an air gun or similar device.
If the failure cannot be recovered after you clean the shutter moving parts, replace
the upper cover with a new one.
3) Checking to see if an element is stuck to any part
Check to see if no element or foreign substance is stuck to any part of the tape
feeder: shutter moving parts, ratchet wheel, bottom side of the upper cover hook
and carrier tape eject path.
If an element or foreign substance is stuck to any part, use a pair of tweezers to
remove it from the ratchet wheel section or use an air gun to blow it off from any other
parts.

and the shutter should be 0.1 mm or less (other than AQ02HP) or
0.05mm or less (AQ02HP) when you set the tape.

Check to see if the shutter moves without being caught on
anywhere when you manually operate it.
