AUTO POWER OFF
Choose the length of time before the camera
turns off automatically when no operations are
performed. Shorter times increase battery life; if
OFF
is selected, the camera must be turned off
manually. Note that regardless of the option se-
lected, the camera will not turn off automatically
when connected to a printer (pg. 45) or computer
(pg. 50) or when a slide show is in progress (pg.
73).
• All data-including protected pictures-will be de-
leted. Be sure important files have been copied to a
computer or other storage device.
• Do not open the battery cover during formatting.

Tip: Reactivating
the
Camera
To reactivate the camera after it has turned off auto-
matically, close and reopen the lens cover or press the
[E button for about a second (pg. 11).
