Basic Setup

  1. Pair the camera with the smartphone or tablet.
    Press MENU/OK to pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet running the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app.

    information To skip pairing, press DISP/BACK.
  2. Check the time.
    When pairing is complete, you will be prompted to set the camera clock to the time reported by the smartphone or tablet. Check that the time is correct.

    information To set the clock manually, press DISP/BACK.
  3. Synchronize the camera settings with the settings confi gured on your smartphone or tablet.
  4. Set the clock.
    Press MENU/OK to set the camera clock to the time reported by the smartphone or tablet and exit to shooting mode.
    information If the battery is removed for an extended period, the camera clock will be reset and the language-selection dialog will be displayed when the camera is turned on.

Skipping the Current Step
Press DISP/BACK to skip the current step. A confirmation dialog will be displayed; select NO to avoid repeating any steps you skipped the next time the camera is turned on.

LARGE INDICATORS MODE(EVF)

Select ON to display large indicators in the electronic viewfinder. The indicators displayed can be selected using SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING.

caution Some icons are not displayed when ON is selected for LARGE INDICATORS MODE(EVF), including:

  • Focus indicator
  • Distance indicator
  • AF+MF indicator
  • Focus mode
  • Microphone/remote release
  • Others

information If LARGE INDICATORS MODE is assigned to a function button, the button can be used to toggle LARGE INDICATORS MODE on (ON) and off (OFF).

LARGE INDICATORS MODE(LCD)

Select ON to display large indicators in the LCD monitor. The indicators displayed can be selected using SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING.

LARGE INDICATORS DISP. SETTING

Choose the indicators displayed when ON is selected for SCREEN SETTING > LARGE INDICATORS MODE(EVF) or LARGE INDICATORS MODE(LCD).

Option Description
  1. Expo. DISP.
Choose the items listed at the bottom of the display. Selected items are indicated by check marks (); to deselect, highlight the check marks and press MENU/OK.
  1. Scale
Select ON to display the exposure indicator.
  1. L1, L2, L3, L4
Choose up to four large icons for display on the left side of the screen.
  1. R1, R2, R3, R4
Choose up to four large icons for display on the right side of the screen.

Bluetooth SETTINGS

Adjust Bluetooth settings.

Option Description
PAIRING REGISTRATION To pair the camera with a smartphone or tablet, select this option, then launch FUJIFILM Camera Remote on the smart device and tap PAIRING REGISTRATION.
SELECT PAIRING DESTINATION Select a smartphone to which to connect from a list of paired devices.
DELETE PAIRING REG. End pairing.
Bluetooth ON/OFF
  • ON: The camera automatically establishes a Bluetooth connection with paired devices when turned on.
  • OFF: The camera does not connect via Bluetooth.
AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER
  • ON: Mark JPEG images for upload as they are taken.
  • OFF: Photos are not marked for upload as they are taken.
SMARTPHONE SYNC. SETTING Choose whether to synchronize the camera to the time and/or location provided by a paired smartphone.
  • LOCATION&TIME: Synchronize the time and location.
  • LOCATION: Synchronize the location.
  • TIME: Synchronize the time.
  • OFF: Synchronization off.

information Install the latest version of the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app on your smartphone or tablet before pairing the device with your camera or uploading images.
When ON is selected for both Bluetooth ON/OFF and AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER, upload to paired devices will begin shortly after you exit to playback or turn the camera off.
If AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER is off, pictures can be marked for transfer using the IMAGE TRANSFER ORDER option in the playback menu.

PC CONNECTION MODE

Adjust settings for connection to a computer.

Option Description
USB CARD READER Connecting the camera to a computer via USB automatically enables data transfer mode, allowing data to be copied to the computer. The camera functions normally when not connected.
USB RAW CONV./ BACKUP RESTORE Connecting the camera to a computer via USB automatically enables USB RAW conversion/ backup restore mode. The camera functions normally when not connected.
  • USB RAW CONV. (requires FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO):
    Use the camera's image processing engine to rapidly convert RAW files to high-quality JPEG images.
  • BACKUP RESTORE (requires FUJIFILM X Acquire):
    Save and load camera settings. Reconfigure the camera in an instant or share settings with other cameras of the same type.

Flash Settings

Third-party studio flash commanders compatible with the FUJIFILM flash system can now be used. For more information, see the documentation provided your studio flash unit.

Power Zoom

The camera now supports XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ power zoom lenses. The following features are available:

  • The zoom ring can be used to adjust zoom.
  • The focus ring can be used to make fine adjustments to zoom in focus modes S (AF-S) and C (AF-C).
  • The zoom position remains fixed during interval-timer photography.
  • The lens remains extended during playback so that shooting can quickly be resumed.
