USER GUIDE
If you are flying from a single point, move the hook from your hoist to the correct position on the centre spine of the flying grid
as indicated on the Compact rigging spreadsheet using a second shackle. If you are using two hoists attach the second to the
front most point on the flying frame with the second shackle. Fly the assembly first using just the rear hoist to raise it just off the
ground, then take up the front hoist to raise the array to the horizontal. Be aware that the array will swing forward when it leaves
the ground, take extreme care and ensure that nobody is standing immediately in front or behind the array when you lift it. Crew
assisting with rigging the system should stand either side of the array and steady it carefully making sure they avoid getting
fingers caught when it swings forward. Remove the wheelboard.
Connections can now be made to the array. If you have loomed your cables as described in the cables chapter you should place
the cable trunk next to the Master or slave rack;
Connect the Tourmate mains cable to the mains distro, U-Net cables to U-Net ports 1 & 2 on the patch panel and the inclinometer
cable to the reader which can be placed on top of the rack. If you are using the Merlin in the rack for audio distribution you can
connect the array audio feed to the relevant audio output on the patch panel;-
