6.3 Lubrication and Adhesion
Use of lubricants and adhesives has a considerable affect on the performance and durability of the printer,
especially lubrication at low temperatures, which requires careful selection of the lubricant. Therefore, apply
adequate lubrication as specified by this manual, which is based on the analysis of technical information and
results from the experimental use of a wide range of lubricants and adhesives. Note the following when using
adhesives and lubricants:
„
Clean the lubrication points prior to applying adhesive.
„
Lubricate the printer periodically as specified.
„
Lubricate the printer after cleaning, disassembling, and assembling the printer for parts replacement.
„
Apply adhesive when assembling the printer or replacing parts. Be sure to used adequate amounts of
adhesive and let it dry thoroughly. The overflow of adhesives may cause malfunctions in nearby parts.
The lubricants and adhesives specified for this printer are selected based on testing with this printer.
Never apply items that are not specified, or printer life and performance might decrease.
