Adjustments
To switch to monaural FM reception
Hold down SHIFT and press TUNER MODE on the remote
control so that "TUNER MONO" is displayed.
To cancel, press again to display "AUTO STEREO".
When using the main unit, press JOG MODE repeatedly so
that "AUTO STEREO" is displayed, then within 6 seconds,
turn MULTI JOG to display "TUNER MONO."
Tip:
When FM stereo reception is poor, switching to monaural
reduces noise.
To switch the AM tuning interval
The default setting of the AM tuning interval is 9 kHz/step. If
you use this unit in an area where the frequency allocation
system is 10 kHz/step, change the tuning interval.
Hold down TUNER/BAND and press POWER on the main unit.
Tip:
When the AM tuning interval is changed, all preset stations
are cleared.
Registering the preset station title
You can register the titles for the preset stations.
1 Tune in the station by preset tuning.
2 Press EDIT repeatedly until "FM (AM) Title?" is
displayed.
3 Within 6 seconds, press MULTI JOG (ENTER on
the remote control).
4 Press JOG MODE (CHARA SEL on the remote
control) to select the kind of character.
On the main unit:
"A>": capital letters
"a>": small letters
"0>": numbers and symbols
On the remote control:
"A>": capital, small letters and symbols
"0>": numbers
5 Enter characters.
Turn MULTI JOG to select the desired character, then press
g.
On the remote control, press the character buttons (see
page 27) several times to select a desired character, then
press g.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 to enter all the required
characters (up to 10 characters).
To cancel, press s.
7 Within 1 minute, press MULTI JOG (ENTER on
the remote control).
"Complete" is displayed, followed by the title you have
entered.
Editing characters in entry mode
•To delete characters
Press f or g repeatedly until the character to delete
flashes, and then press EDIT (DELETE on the remote control).
•To insert a blank space between the characters
Press f or g repeatedly until the character just
behind the inserting position flashes, and then press
SP/LP ((SPACE) on the remote control).
•To insert a character between the characters
Press f or g repeatedly until the character just
behind the inserting position flashes, and then enter a
character with the remote control.
On the unit, insert a blank space first, and then enter a
character.
•To change a character during entering
Press f or g repeatedly until the character to change
flashes, and then enter a desired character.
On the remote control, delete the character to change first,
and then enter a character.
These characters can be used
Capital letters: (space), A to Z
Small letters: (space), a to z
Numbers and symbols: (space), 0 to 9, ! " # $ % & ' ( ) ∗
+ , - . / : ; < = > ? @ _ `
