Operation
Refer to Figure 4-16. The display circuitry consists of several ICs on the main board to produce text or the
illusion of motion using a changing array of lights on the fluorescent display tube. The purpose of the ICs shown
is listed in table 4-9.

Name
Instructs IC5001 to selects the display (text or pattern)
depending upon the mode of operation.
Examines the audio and converts it to a level / frequency
display. Stores display in IC1030 for access by CPU.
Operating memory for DSP IC3003 processing.
CPU to DSP communications Interface
Contains repetitive (stock) display patterns and start up
sequence for the CPU (accessed after reset or pwr ON).
Holds display matrix pattern for retrieval by IC5001. Fed
data from DSP & Flash Ram.
High speed Bit clock for IC5001
