CD Circuitry

The circuitry for the CD, Hard Drive, and Memory Stick® and Digital In / Out USB port storage devices are shown
in Figure 4-8. Communications between the CD and Hard Drive to record music involves three main LSI ICs. CD
ROM IC8 not only handles the CD playback operation (servo, decoding), but is connected to the Hard Drive and
CPU Interface IC2003 via a dedicated ATAPI data bus for fast recording speed. IC2003 communicates with the
main CPU IC1010 using a separate bus.
