Using the Interposer

Inserting Paper from the Interposer

The interposer can be specified as the input tray for the following functions:

• Covers (Front Cover / Back Cover)
• Designation Sheet Copy
The procedure to insert the cover and designation from the interposer is the same as the one used to
insert from the paper tray.
For details about how to insert the cover or designation sheet, see "Advanced Copier Functions", Copy
and Document Server Reference
• The front/back cover sheet or designation sheet in Tray Paper Settings must to be specified in
advance. For details how to specified Tray Paper Settings, see "Tray Paper Settings", Paper Settings
Reference
• The paper inserted from interposer cannot be printed.
• You cannot specify the interposer as the Main Sheet Tray.
• For details about how to load paper on the interposer, see p.41 "Loading Paper".

Tray Paper Settings

When the interposer is installed on the machine, the settings on the following page are displayed in the
Tray Paper Settings. The settings can be changed when necessary.
• If the specified size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed
might occur because the correct paper size is not detected.
• If you want to use preprinted paper, contact your service representative.
Interposer Upper and Lower Tray
This section explains the paper tray settings for the upper and lower trays of the interposer.
