Connecting the Counter to a Computer
Connecting with the Serial Interface
Connect the female DB25 connector on the adapter to the male DB25
serial-port connector on the computer, and then insert the RJ12 plug at
the other end of the cable into the RJ12 receptacle on the back of the
counter as shown in Figure 3-5.

Remote/Local Operation
When the counter is connected to a computer via the HP-IB, and it is in
Remote mode, the Rmt indicator is visible on the display, and the Counter
settings cannot be affected using the front-panel controls. The
Reset/Local key can be used to manually return the counter to local
control (if local-lockout is off).
When the Counter is in Local mode, the front-panel Rmt indicator in the
display is off.
