Step 1.
Press both sides of the retainer
Step 2.
Move the retainer forward until it is in the large opening of the keyhole.
Step 3.
Take the retainer out of the keyhole.
Step 4.
Insert the retainer into the correct keyhole.
Step 5.
Press both sides of the retainer.
Step 6.
Slide the retainer backwards until it is seated in place.

Install a GPU with the GPU thermal kit

Use this information to install a full-height GPU or the NVIDIA P4 GPU with the GPU thermal kit.

Notes:
• To install a full-height GPU or the NVIDIA P4 GPU, you need to use the GPU thermal kit. The GPU thermal
kit contains the following items:
– The large-size air baffle
– Two 1U heat sinks
– Three GPU holders
• To install the other supported low-profile GPUs, refer to "Install a PCIe adapter on the riser assembly" on
page 168.
• For information about the form factor of GPUs, refer to GPU specifications. See "Specifications" on page
5.
• Depending on the specific type, your GPU might look different from the illustrations in this topic.
Before installing the GPU thermal kit and a GPU, touch the static-protective package that contains the GPU
thermal kit and the GPU to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the components
out of the packages and place them on a static-protective surface.
