7.5
Selection of direction of rotation
Do not activate the rotation selector
switch (9) unless the motor has
completely stopped.
Selecting the direction of rotation:
R = Clockwise
L = Counter-clockwise
The drill chuck must be firmly screwed
onto the spindle and the safety screw
inside the drill chuck must be firmly
tightened with a screwdriver. (Caution, left-
handed thread!)
If rotated counter-clockwise (e.g. when
screwing) it could otherwise become loose.
7.6
Switching pulse function on and off
(depending on equipment)
Do not work for long periods with
pulse function switched on! (The
motor can overheat.)
Actuate rocker switch for pulse function (4).
0 = pulse function switched off
= pulse function switched on
7.7
Tool change
Keyless chuck Futuro Plus (12)
(equipment-dependent)
See illustrations, page 3.
Note: If your chuck is equipped with a retaining
ring (b), you must always hold it firmly in position
when opening and closing the chuck. (Machines
with a built-in spindle stop do not require a
retaining ring (b) - the chuck can be operated with
only one hand).
Clamping tool:
- Insert tool.
- Turn sleeve (a) in direction "GRIP, ZU" until the
noticeable mechanical resistance has been over-
come.
- Caution! The tool is not yet clamped! Keep
turning the sleeve vigorously (it has to "click")
until it cannot be turned any further - only now is
the tool securely clamped.
With a soft tool shank, retightening may be
required after a short drilling period.
Releasing tool / opening chuck:
- Turn sleeve (a) in direction "AUF, RELEASE".
Note: The grating sound which may be heard after
opening the drill chuck is functional and is stopped
by turning the sleeve in the opposite direction.
If the chuck is very securely tightened: Unplug.
Hold drill chuck using an open-end spanner at the
flats on its head and turn the sleeve (a) vigourously
in direction of "AUF, RELEASE".

Tool change
with a geared chuck (10)
(equipment-dependent)
See illustrations, page 3.
Clamping tool:
Insert the tool and use the chuck key (11) to
uniformly clamp tight in all 3 bores.
Removing tool:
Open the geared chuck (10) with chuck key (11)
and remove tool.
7.9
Removing the chuck
Undo the locking screw. Caution left-handed
thread!
Caution! The spindle stop (depends on
equipment) is not designed to absorb the
forces generated during chuck removal.
Hold the drill spindle firmly in position with an
open-ended spanner.
Hold the drill spindle firmly with an open-ended
spanner. With a light blow from a rubber hammer,
release the chuck from the clamped hexagon
spanner and unscrew it.

8 Tips and Tricks

In the case of deep bores pull the drill bit out of the
bore from time to time in order to remove the bore
dust or shavings.
Drill tiles and other brittle materials without impact.
Switch on the pulse function (SBE 610 Impuls) for
drilling without centring.
The chuck can be removed for screwdriving. Insert
screwdriver bit directly in the hexagon socket of
the spindle.
If a bit spring collet (as accessories: order no.
6.31281) is fitted, the screwdriver bit is held in
position.
