4.12 System Board

Removing the System Board
To remove the system board, follow the steps below and refer to figure 4-25.
1. Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC power cord and all external cables
connected to the computer.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional PC card, optional memory module, HDD,
keyboard, sub-battery and VGA board, top cover and display assembly, membrane
switch, FDD, and AC PS unit as described in sections 4.2 through 4.11.
Remove six M2.5x6 screws , one M2.5x8 screw , and the AC PS unit support .

Lift out the system board .

Installing the System Board

To install the system board, follow the steps below and refer to figure 4-25.
Seat the system board and the AC PS unit support .

Secure six M2.5x6 screws and one M2.5x8 screw .

3. Install the AC PS unit, FDD, membrane switch, top cover and display assembly,
sub-battery and VGA assembly, keyboard, HDD, optional memory module, op-
tional PC card, and battery pack as described in sections 4.11 back through 4.2.
