Printing in a Network Environment
For information, see the descriptions of Windows NT 4.0 in the manual that
comes with this machine.
Important
The procedures written in this manual assume that you are a network admin-
istrator. If you aren't, be sure to consult your network administrator before
configuration.
TCP/IP configuration
Follow these steps to configure a Windows 2000 computer to use the TCP/IP
protocol.
A
Click [Start] on the task bar, point to [Settings], and then click [Network and
Dial-up Connections].

Click [Local Area Connection]. On the [File] menu, click [Properties].

Confirm that "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" is selected in the [Components
checked are used by this connection:] box on the [General] tab.
Note
If the check box of TCP/IP protocol is not selected, select it.
If the TCP/IP protocol is not installed, click [Install] on the [General] tab and
install it. For more information about installing the TCP/IP protocol, see
Windows 2000 Help.

Configure the TCP/IP protocols with the appropriate IP address, subnet
mask and other settings.
Confirm with the network administrator that the settings are correct.
NetBEUI configuration
Follow these steps to configure a Windows 2000 computer to use the NetBEUI
protocol.
A
Click [Start] on the task bar, point to [Settings], and then click [Network and
Dial-up Connections].

Click [Local Area Connection]. On the [File] menu, click [Properties].
C
Confirm that "NetBEUI Protocol" is selected in the [Components checked are
used by this connection:] box on the [General] tab.
Note
If the check box of the NetBEUI protocol is not selected, select it.
