Selected Nozzles
Select this if there are faint or missing segments
in only some of the numbered patterns (nozzle
arrays) in the check pattern. You can select
multiple nozzle arrays.

Choose the nozzle arrays to be cleaned.

Use the d/u buttons to choose the nozzle
arrays with faint or missing segments in the
nozzle check pattern, and then press the Z
button.

After selecting the arrays you want to clean,
select Execute With Selection, and then
press the Z button.

Head cleaning starts.
A confirmation message is displayed when
cleaning is complete.
Note:
If the room temperature is low, it may take some
time to finish.

To print a check pattern and check the status of
the clog, use the d/u buttons to select Nozzle
Check, and then press the Z button.
When printing a check pattern in the margin of
media on which a check pattern has already been
printed, press the u button to move the print
start position to the pressure rollers position.

Select the desired print position, and then press
the Z button.
Select Print At Center or Print At Left to print in
a side margin where a check pattern has already
been printed. The displayed content changes
depending on the width of the loaded media.
Press the Z button to print a check pattern.
I
Cut the media as necessary, and then check the
printed patterns.
No faint or missing segments
Continue with normal operations.
Faint or missing segments
Go back to step 1 and do Cleaning (Heavy).
Handling Ink Drops and Clogged Nozzles

If nozzles are still clogged even after doing
Cleaning (Heavy) twice
The areas around the print heads may be soiled.
Perform Auto Head Maintenance in the
following section.

Auto Head Maintenance

Perform Auto Head Maintenance if ink drops or
clogged nozzles remain even after performing head
cleaning.

Important:
Do not perform auto head maintenance repeatedly
in one day. Using this feature too frequently could
damage the print heads.
Buttons that are used in the following settings
A
After confirming that the printer is ready, press
the # button.
The Maintenance menu will be displayed.
B
Use the d/u buttons to select Head
Maintenance and press the Z button.
C
Check that Auto Head Maintenance is
highlighted, and then press the Z button.
D
Press the Z button.
Auto Head Maintenance starts.
