Removing the Driveshaft and
Flywheel-Adapter Plate from the
Engine
Machines with Back-Up Rings
Remove 8 flange-head capscrews that secure the
flywheel-adapter plate and 2 backup rings to the
flywheel of the engine, and remove the backup rings
and the driveshaft and flywheel-adapter plate from the
machine
(Figure
4).
Discard the 8 flange-head capscrews and 2 backup
rings that you removed.
Note:
Keep the driveshaft and flywheel-adapter plate
for later installation.

Flywheel-Adapter Plate
Removing the Driveshaft from the

Remove the 6 capscrews and 6 flange locknuts
that secure the flywheel-adapter plate and
backup plate to the driveshaft
Discard the 6 capscrews and 6 nuts that you
removed.

Separate the driveshaft from the
flywheel-adapter plate and backup plate
(Figure

Discard the flywheel-adapter plate and backup
plate that you separated.
