These settings adapt the serial interface of the Serial Modem to that of the terminal device.

are adjusted to the communication
behaviour of the serial terminal
device.
Under TotalReadTimeout, it is
usually OK to accept the default
value of 100 ms.
The ideal signal throughput time
can be ascertained with the "ping"
tool (see below) or the "INet Info"
dialog box.
CharDistance (i.e. character
interval) with default value 5 ms
should only be changed in
exceptional cases.
