About SmartMedia (continued)
Gently insert the SmartMedia as far as it can go with
the SmartMedia electrodes (metal contacts) facing the
rear of the camera.
Firmly insert the SmartMedia as far as it can go.
Close the SmartMedia cover.
Before you use a new SmartMedia, be sure to format the SmartMedia
( Page 82).

Removing SmartMedia

IMPORTANT
• Never open the SmartMedia cover or remove the SmartMedia while data is being recorded to the
SmartMedia (viewfinder is lit red). This might damage the SmartMedia or corrupt the data on the
SmartMedia.
Set the mode dial to [ ].
