• 5/16" hex socket wrench or nut-driver
• Phillips screwdriver

1. Remove fi replace screen. Remove two screws
that hold fi replace screen in place for shipping.
These screws are located near top of screen.
Discard screws. Push the bottom corners of the

lift the screen up and pull out to remove.
2. Remove screws that attach log base assembly
to fi replace (see Figure 19, Page 16). Carefully
lift up log base assembly and remove from
fi replace (see Figure 19, Page 16).
NOTE: If adding brick liner accessory kit, install it
now. Follow brick liner accessory kit instructions.
3. Route gas line (provided by installer) from
equipment shutoff valve to fi replace. Route
fl exible gas supply line through one of the
access holes.
4. Attach the fl exible gas line to gas supply (see
Figure 20). Check tightness of fl exible gas
line attached to gas regulator of fi replace (see
Figure 20).
5. Check all gas connections for leaks. See Check-
ing Gas Connections.
6. Replace log base assembly back into fi replace.
Feed fl exible gas line into fi replace base area
while replacing log base assembly. Make sure
the entire fl exible gas line is in fi replace base
area. Reattach log base assembly to fi replace
with screws removed in step 2, Page 15.
CAUTION: Do not pick up heater
base assembly by burners. This could
damage heater. Only handle base as-
sembly by grates.
NOTICE: Most building codes do not
permit concealed gas connections. A
fl exible gas line is provided to allow
accessibility from the fi replace (see
Figure 20). The fl exible gas supply line
connection to the equipment shutoff
valve should be accessible.
