On the PARAMETER screen, navigate to the TYPE field and change it to
GLID(2A+2F) – Glider (2 Ailerons 2 Flaps). Insure the MODULATION is set
correctly, and ATL is set to ON. Refer to pages 33 – 36 of the Futaba 10C
manual for details describing these settings. Press the CURSOR button to go to
the second PARAMETER screen.
At this point, we are finished with the BASIC MENU configuration, and will now
move to the ADVANCED SETINGS configuration by pressing once on the MODE
button. Navigate to the AILE-DIFF selection and press the PUSH button.
Once back at the fist ADVANCED MENU screen, navigate to the CAMBER FLAP
selection and press the PUSH button.
CAMBER FLAP: provides camber movement or trimming of flaperons as flaps. See
page 86 of the 10C manual.
For sailplanes, this function is also used as wing camber. The amount
depends on the model, but usually a small amount (less than 10%) is
preferred, since too much camber produces excess drag. Don't use more
than about 1/16" travel up or down for glider camber. Some airfoils,
such as the RG-15, should be flown with NO reflex/camber. Be sure to
consult your model's manual for guidelines.
Note that even though you may make FLAP-TRIM active while using AIL-
DIFF, it will not have any effect. The ONLY function that allows control of
the ailerons as flaps in the AIL-DIFF configuration is airbrake.)
I have configured my CAMBER FLAP as per page 86 of the 10C manual, and assigned it to knob VR(A) – Flap Trim Control, so that it
can be adjusted from 0% to 35%. Press END to go back to the previous screen.
On this screen, navigate down to the USER NAME field and enter your USER
NAME in the same manner used to select the MODEL NAME, earlier. When
done, press the END button to get back to the second BASIC MENU screen.
Aileron Differential (AILE-DIFF): allows twin aileron servos to provide
differential down travel from up travel.
I have configured my AILE-DIFF settings as per page 54 of the 10C manual,
but you may choose to change your settings as you see fit. Press END to get
back to the first ADVANCED MENU screen.
