Application
This product information is valid for several device types of communication converter product portfolio, which are used in different applications at
utilities and industry:
Signal acquisition, supervision, evaluation and display of binary electrical measurements, temperature values, 20mA or protocols.
Communication of measurement values / information to protection device or connection to a substation controller or control center for process
automation.
Bidirectional transmission of binary signals, I/O expansion or contact multiplier.
Adaptation/conversion of different communications (optical/electrical, RS485/FO/RS232) for data transmission.
DIN rail mounting
Communication and measurement transmission can be realized via Ethernet-Port, serial interface (optical/electrical) or direct connection.

De-energize the device.
Circuit breaker: A suitable isolating device shall be connected
upstream in order to permit disconnection of the device from the
power supply! The circuit breaker has to be protected by a fuse
T 2 A/250 V AC and 250 V DC according to IEC 60127 The
fuse must be installed in the vicinity of the device, easy reach
from the user and shall be labeled as the mains isolator switch
for the device.
The earthing connection as reasonably practicable must be
grounded before connecting any other electric wires.
All circuit components connected to the power supply may be
subject to dangerous voltage.
Hazardous voltages may be present in equipment even after the
supply voltage has been disconnected (capacitors can still be
charged).
The limit values stated under "Technical Data" in the
corresponding device manual may not be exceeded. This must
also be considered during testing and commissioning.
