6. Put the starter pulley (C) in the starter housing.
Install the washer (B) and the screw (A). Install the
plastic cover (D).

7. Put the starter rope through the starter rope handle.
Make a small knot on the starter rope and pull the
knot into the handle.
8. Tighten the recoil spring.
a) Pull out the starter rope fully and put your thumb
on the starter pulley.
b) Lift the starter rope out of the groove on the
starter pulley.

c) Turn the starter pulley counterclockwise 4
d) Pull out the starter rope fully and turn the starter
e) Remove your thumb and let the starter rope wind

9. Install the starter on the product. Hold the starter in
position and tighten the 4 screws.

10. Tilt the starter slightly forward to make sure that the
starter is installed correctly on the cylinder cover and
on the muffler.
11. Pull the starter rope handle slowly to engage the
starter pawl with the starter wheel.
12. Do a check that the starter works.
7.3.4 To assemble the Smart start starter
1. Pull the starter rope through the hole in the starter
pulley and make a knot. Make sure that the knot is
as small as possible and that it goes into the notch
on the starter pulley.
2. Wind the starter rope 3 turns counterclockwise
around the starter pulley.
