Connecting the optional external power supply

The AG2330 supports an optional external power supply that can provide a redundant power
option for the AG2330. In the event the AG2330 internal power supply fails, the external power
supply provides redundant power to keep the AG2330 running until the AG2330 can be
removed from service.
Important:
The external power supply is not intended as a permanent power source to the system.
The following figure shows the optional external power supply.
Figure 10: External power supply
If you obtained the external power supply with the AG2330, connect the power supply to the
AG2330 before the AG2330 is powered on. If the external power supply is ordered as an add-
on for an existing installation and the AG2330 is already powered, you can insert the external
power supply while the AG2330 is running.
When you use the external power supply for power redundancy, Avaya recommends using two
independent AC power outlets: one outlet to feed the AG2330 chassis and the other to feed
the redundant external power supply. This recommended arrangement eliminates a single
point of failure in case the AC outlet fails.
Use the following procedure to connect the external power supply to the AG2330.
Procedure steps
1. Remove the label from the 12VDC input port on the back of the AG2330. The
