Verify DS0G, TMUX and VSC Switching (Working to Protect)

PURPOSE
This procedure is used to verify working-to-protect copy switching of redundant DS0G, TMUX, and
VSC modules.
PREREQUISITES
The test environment established in
GENERAL
The working DS0G is equipped in slot 3 or 14, and the protect DS0G is equipped in slot 4 or 15. This
procedure tests only the working DS0G in slot 3 or 14. The protect DS0G in slot 4 or 15 is tested in
DLP-130.
Working TMUXs and VSCs are equipped in slots 6A, 13A, 6B, and 13B, and protect TMUXs and
VSCs are equipped in slots 5A, 12A, 5B, and 12B, respectively. This procedure tests only working
TMUXs and VSCs in slots 6A, 13A, 6B, and 13B. Protect TMUXs and VSCs in slots 5A, 12A, 5B, and
12B are tested in DLP-130.
For information on TL1 command syntax, refer to the 1677 SONET Link Commands and Messages
manual (PN 3EM13852AF).
Refer to the 1677 SONET Link Address and Location Guide (PN 3EM13854AD) for module
locations.
This procedure makes reference to S and SS, where S=slot number and SS=subslot number in shelf.

Do alarms exist that prevent testing DS0G, TMUX, or VSC?

Clear all alarms that prevent testing, verify in CKL-116, then go to step 4. Refer to

1677 SONET Link Maintenance and Trouble Clearing manual (PN 3EM13853AF).

Verify DS0G, TMUX and VSC Switching (Working to Protect)
DLP-120
to verify there are no alarms present.
RTRV-ALM-ALL;
If yes, then go to step 3.
If no, verify in CKL-116, go to step 4.
