SECTION 4—MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
• Washing Cycle -
i. Place laundry into a washing machine.
DO NOT overload the machine.
Wash therapy pads are separate from air sacks.
DO NOT use concentrated bleach because it may damage the fabric coating.
ii. Wash with warm water (120°F max.) and detergent.
iii. Follow manufacturer's directions.
• Machine Drying Method -
Laundry workers should ALWAYS wash their hands before working with clean
bedding.
High air temperatures will damage the fabrics and void the Invacare warranty
i. Dry therapy pads below 120°F in a clothes dryer with accurate controls.
10. Perform the following steps to clean the power unit and hose fittings:
A. Wipe all controls and chassis and hose fittings with a quaternary disinfectant
solution.
B. Using a nylon brush, gently clean all crevices as they can harbor microorganisms.
C. Air dry all treated surfaces.

Storing the MicroAIR 3500S System

DO NOT fold the mattress or hoses, otherwise damage to the system will occur.
1. Ensure that the power unit is off and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Clean the MicroAIR 3500S system. Refer to Cleaning the MicroAIR 3500S System on
page 21.
3. Disconnect the air hose connector(s) from the power unit and allow air to vent from
the mattress.
4. Carefully roll up the mattress without kinking the hoses. DO NOT fold the mattress
or hoses.
5. Ensure the therapy pad surface is inside the roll.
