Print Quality Is Poor

Symptom
White stripe in
perpendicular direction.
Paper feed direction
Printing is blurred in
perpendicular direction.
Paper feed direction
Printing is light.
Cause
LED head is unclean.
Low toner.
Deposit of foreign substances.
Window film on print cartridge is
dirty.
Print cartridge has not been set
correctly.
LED head is unclean.
Low toner.
The toner is clumping.
Paper not suitable.
The temperature and humidity
controls are not suitable.
Print cartridge has not been set
correctly.
Low toner.
Paper is moist.
Paper not suitable.
Paper not suitable.
Type and thickness setting of
paper is inappropriate.
Recycled paper is used.
Troubleshooting
Wipe LED head with a soft tissue
paper.
Replace the print cartridge.
Replace the print cartridge.
Wipe window film with a soft tissue
paper.
Please set the print cartridge
correctly.
Wipe LED head with a soft tissue
paper.
On the control panel, set +1 to
+3 in [Menus] > [Print Adjust] >
[SMR Setting]. If the problem is not
rectified after that, replace the print
cartridge.
* There is a risk of the printouts
being dirty if you continue using the
+1 to +3 setting in [SMR Setting].
Shake the print cartridge up and
down, and left and right.
Check the roll paper specifications,
and then use paper that is described
on the roll paper specifications.
On the control panel, set +1 to +3
in [Menus] > [Print Adjust] > [SMR
Setting].
* There is a risk of the printouts
being dirty if you continue using the
+1 to +3 setting in [SMR Setting].
Re-install the print cartridge.
Replace the print cartridge.
Use paper that has been stored
at appropriate temperature and
humidity.
Check the roll paper specifications,
and then use paper that is described
on the roll paper specifications.
Correct [Media Weight] in [Paper
settings] of the printer driver to the
appropriate value. Or, change [Media
Weight] to a thicker value than the
present value.
