enable pin signals, to send sample event marks
and alarm signals, or to supply 12 VDC power.
All of these types of connections use the
optional unterminated connect cable, P/N
68-4700-020 (Figure 2-12). This 3 m (10 ft)
cable is unterminated at the device end to allow
wired connections to compatible circuits. Refer
to Table 2-3 for wire identification and
connection details.

Risk of equipment damage. Only experienced
electronic technicians should make the connections
to an external device using cable 68-4700-020.
To connect the external device, refer to Table
2-3 and select the appropriate wires. Splice the
wires by soldering or using crimped connectors.
Trim back the tinned ends of any unused wires
and provide appropriate electrical insulation.
To complete the connection, be sure to protect it
from the environment. Running the cables
through conduit and making the connections
inside a watertight electrical box generally
provides adequate protection.
