2.3 Active Interface Modules
2.3.1

Description

Active Interface Modules are used in conjunction with the Active Line Modules in chassis
format. The air-cooled Active Interface Modules contain a Clean Power Filter with basic RI
suppression, the pre-charging circuit for the Active Line Module, the line voltage sensing
circuit and monitoring sensors.
Frame size GI is equipped as standard with a bypass contactor which ensures a highly
compact design. The bypass contactor must be provided separately for frame sizes HI and
JI.
The vast majority of line harmonics are suppressed by the Clean Power Filter.
The Active Interface Module contains:
● Clean Power Filter
● Line reactor
● Pre-charging circuit
● Bypass contactor (for frame size GI)
● Voltage Sensing Module
● Fan
