ASSEMBLING AND INSTALLING THE
CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER
WARNING
• Before installation, all internal clutch
components should be cleaned and lubri-
cated with clean or new clutch fluid.
• Never use solvents on internal clutch
components as they will cause the piston
seal to swell and distort.
• Whenever a clutch master cylinder is dis-
assembled, replace the piston seal.
Recommended clutch fluid
Brake fluid DOT 4
1. Install:
• clutch release cylinder 1
2. Install:
• copper washer
• joint 1
3. Install:
• copper washers
• clutch hose 1
• union bolt 2
WARNING

Proper clutch hose routing is essential to
insure safe motorcycle operation. Refer to
"CABLE ROUTING" in chapter 2.
