Crankshaft seal on timing end: Removal - Refitting

a Fit the protector (15) equipped with the seal (16) on
the timing sprocket.
Note:
This type of seal is extremely fragile. When han-
dling, it is essential to grip protective piece. It is
strictly forbidden to touch the seal, in order to
prevent any oil leaks once the seal is fitted to the
engine.
a Fit the bell housing (17) of the tool (Mot. 1905).

a Position the crankshaft pulley bolt (18) .
a Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt until the bell hous-
ing of the tool (Mot. 1905) comes into contact with
the lower timing cover.
a Remove:
- the crankshaft pulley bolt,
- the (Mot. 1905),
- the protector from the crankshaft seal at the timing
end.
IV - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the crankshaft accessories pulley (see 11A, Top
and front of engine, Crankshaft accessories
pulley: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-33) ,
- the crankshaft accessories belt (see 11A, Top and
front of engine, Accessories belt: Removal -
Refitting, page 11A-13) ,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-51) ,
- the right-hand engine tie-bar,
