Mot. 1390 Support for removal - refitting
of engine - gearbox assembly
Equipment required
refrigerant charging station
safety strap(s)
Tightening torquesm
central nut of the left-
hand suspended engine
mounting rubber pad
lower engine tie-bar
bolts
tie rod bolts
earth nuts on the front
left-hand side member
and on the left-hand
scuttle reinforcement
air filter box air outlet
pipe clips
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see Petrol injection: Precautions for the
repair) .
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
IMPORTANT
To prevent the vehicle from falling, lash it to the
vehicle lift using a strap.
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove the front engine cover.
62 N.m
180 N.m
44 Nm
8 N.m
6 Nm
a Disconnect the fuel supply quick-release unions (1) .
IMPORTANT
Wear goggles with side protectors for this opera-
tion.
a Fit blanking plugs on the fuel pipe openings.
a Remove:
- the front wheels (see Wheel: Removal - Refitting)
(35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the front wheel arch liners (see Front wheel arch
liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Exterior protec-
tion),
- the front bumper (see Front bumper: Removal -
Refitting) (55A, Exterior protection),
- the engine undertray bolts,
