Recovery Mode

This is a special mode in which the printer can be booted in case a code flash is interrupted (by turning it
off or power failure) and the printer will no longer boot, posts a 959 or hangs during boot.
To enter Recovery Mode, do the following:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold 2, 7 and 8.
3. Turn on the printer.
4. Release the buttons when the splash screen appears.
This mode will allow the printer to boot from a secondary set of instructions to allow a code flash to the
printer. No other functions are available. The screen will have a red background and say "Recovery" .
While in this mode, you can ONLY flash code via USB directly connected to a PC.

Print Engine Skew Guidelines

It's important to think about the paper transport system and the components involved in moving paper
through the printer. A number of factors could contribute to skew. Before replacing parts, check these
items:
Paper Squareness – Before deciding if the printer is the cause of skewing, it is very important to
check the paper to see if it is cut squarely. Remove two consecutive pages from the paper ream.
Flip over the top page, and place it facedown onto the bottom page. Tap the pages on a level
surface to align the bottom edge. Check top edges to see if the sheets are aligned.
You can see a shadow of the
second page behind the first. The
paper is not square so print on the
page may look skewed.
