Prerequisites

Remove the base cover.

Procedure

1 Open the latch and disconnect the display-assembly cable from the system board.
2 Note the routing of the display cable and remove the cable from its routing guides on the fan and palm rest and keyboard assembly.
3 Remove the three screws (M2.5x6) that secure the left hinge to palm rest and keyboard assembly.
4 Open the left hinge.
5 Open the latch and disconnect the power-button board cable from the I/O board.
6 Gently peel off the tape that secures the power-button board to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
7 Remove the screw (M2x2) that secures the power-button board to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
8 Release the power-button board from the tabs and lift the power-button board along with the cable off the palm rest and keyboard
assembly.
