Hardware Descriptions

This section describes the front panel and back panel components and the system LEDs.

Front Panel

The front panel of the switch provides the system LEDs and 12 slots in which you can install port cards.
Each port card provides its own LEDs (see Port Cards and Port LEDs on page 18).
The following figure shows the front panel with six port cards and six blank covers installed in the switch.
