4. Turn on the dock by pressing the power button.
5. If an external display is available, connect the external display to the appropriate connector (HDMI or
DisplayPort connector) on the dock. The external display shows some wireless pairing instructions when
you connect your computer to the WiGig dock.
6. Position your computer close to the ThinkPad WiGig Dock, within 90 cm (35 inches). The dock also must
be within a 120-degree sector region relatively to the rear of the computer. Ensure that no objects are
between the dock and the computer.
Note: Ensure that the WiGig dock and your computer are placed in the recommended position. If you
notice any of the following conditions, adjust the kickstand slightly to achieve better performance:
• A message is displayed indicating that the wireless connection to the WiGig dock is weak.
• The pointer drifts on the external display connected to the WiGig dock.
• The computer is unexpectedly disconnected from the WiGig dock.
Connecting to the ThinkPad WiGig Dock
To connect your computer to the ThinkPad WiGig dock, do the following:
1. After the setup and preparation, turn on your computer and the dock.
2. Tap the action center icon
3. Select your dock from the list of available devices.
4. When prompted, press the power/connection button on the dock to confirm the pairing.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the connection.
After establishing the initial connection, you can make configurations so that whenever the computer comes
within the required range, it automatically gets connected to the dock.
Disconnecting from the ThinkPad WiGig Dock
To disconnect your computer from the ThinkPad WiGig Dock, do the following:
1. Tap the action center icon
2. Locate the ThinkPad WiGig Dock and tap Disconnect.
3. Hold down the power button on the dock for several seconds until the dock is turned off.
