Mounting the module

Regulatory requirements
Mount the module in the control panel enclosure, or in a UL listed enclosure. For Commercial
Burglary applications, house all communicators in tampered enclosures.
All communicators shall be housed in tampered enclosures. If the unit is used in a commercial
burglar environment, and is enclosed in a commercial enclosure, that enclosure must be
tampered.
If the installation is a local or police station connection, then the module must be mounted
inside an attack resistant enclosure.

Wiring considerations
If you use terminal strip wiring instead of interconnect wiring, wire the B450 module to the
compatible control panel before you mount it into the enclosure to make the installation
easier.

Mounting considerations
Choose from the following mounting options before you mount the module:
Mount the B450 on the inside enclosure wall that also contains the supported control panel.
The control panel powers the B450 via the terminal block or bus connection.
Mount the B450 on the inside wall of a separate enclosure. The control panel in a nearby,
separate enclosure powers the B450 via the terminal block or bus connection.
Mount the B450 on the inside wall of a separate enclosure that also has a separate external
power supply such as the B520 Auxiliary Power Supply Module.
