This User 's Guide covers t he following m odels: GS1100- 8HP , GS1100- 16, GS1100- 24, GS1100- 24E
and GS1100- 10HP . The Swit ch is a 10/ 100/ 1000 Mbps m ult i- port swit ch t hat can be used t o build
high- perform ance swit ched workgroup net works. The Swit ch is a st ore- and- forward device t hat
offers low lat ency for high- speed net working. The Swit ch is fanless and designed for workgroups,
depart m ent s or backbone com put ing environm ent s for sm all businesses.

The GS1100- 24 and GS1100- 10HP have t wo SFP slot s for uplink connect ion. Use SFP t ransceivers
in t hese slot s for 100Mbps or 1Gbps connect ions t o backbone Et hernet swit ches.
The Swit ch has a built- in algorit hm t hat aut om at ically assigns priorit y t o received packet s. I t can
operat e in low power idle m ode in com pliance wit h I EEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Et hernet ( EEE) .
