These are instructions to convert a grass trimmer to a blade capable unit. This is not an Owner's/Operator's
manual. Information on how to operate and maintain the unit can be found in the Owner's/Operator's manual
for the unit you are converting. This kit contains a cutting attachment shield that has been redesigned to pro-
vide better visibility and a larger cutting swath when used as a grass trimmer.
If the trimmer was manufactured prior to October, 2001, Clamp Kit 80293 is required to complete this
installation.
Units with adjustable carburetors must be readjusted for blade use, otherwise serious engine dam-
age can occur.

- Page 7 Procedure Remove Handle Assembly T242 with 1-screw handle: Remove Existing Cutting Attachment Shield 1. Remove handle assembly and retain parts for future use. 1. Remove bolts (A), bracket (B), and shims (C). 2. Remove cutting attachment shield from gear case. Remove Gear Case 1.
- Page 8 Install Shoulder Strap 1. Position hanger (G) on outer tube (H) between the handle and throttle assembly. Loosely secure the hanger with nut (I) and bolt (J). 2. Adjust the shoulder strap so the shoulder pad rests comfortably on the left shoulder and the cutting path of the cutting attachment is parallel to the ground.
- Page 9 Install Debris Shield Install Brushcutter Blade 1. Insert cutting attachment shield (N) between IMPORTANT the outer tube and cutting attachment mounting plate (O).
