5. Tighten blade screw approximately one turn and pull down on blade.
Blade should not pull out of clamp.
6. Tighten blade screw securely.
7. Slide both blade guides, Fig. 1, towards blade until they lightly
contact the sides of the blade, then back the guides off to produce
paper thickness clearance per side.

8. Tighten guide screws securely.
NOTE: Blade guides can be used to set blade squareness to the base,
but clearance must be maintained between one blade guide and the
blade.
do so can cause blade to shatter and possibly result in personal
injury.
NOTE: The blade guides are reversible to provide additional wear
surfaces. When reversing guides, left guide becomes right guide and
right guide becomes left guide.
B. "UNIVERSAL" BLADES:
NOTE:
(1) When cutting wood with "universal" type blades; orbit settings "0",
"1", or "2" are recommended. Use of setting "3" may cause blade
breakage.
(2) The back edge of "universal" type blades must be in line with
mounting tang; use of "universal" type blades with the back edge offset
from the mounting tang can result in erratic blade action and blade
breakage.
It is necessary to raise and lower the blade holder shaft to perform the
following operations. This is accomplished by rotating the motor fan with
a screwdriver.
1. Loosen blade screw, Fig. 3, approximately two turns. Loosen clamp
screw six to eight turns and remove clamp.
NOTE: It may be necessary to raise the blade holder slightly to
remove the clamp.
Do not clamp blade guides tightly against blade. To
